Hangfire BBQ Kitchen, Barry.

Hangfire BBQ Kitchen in Barry, South Wales is located in the up and coming part of Barry. The Building was derelict until 2015. Now it is home to Hangfire, a coffee shop and apartments.

Hangfire has become a very popular restaurant, with people booking months in advance to get a table here and once inside you can see why. the warm and friendly atmosphere welcomes you the moment you walk through the door. Also if your lucky enough you will be greeted by one of the owners (who shot to fame when their TV show Sam and Shanua's big cook out aired on BBC1).

Now getting to the food, Starting with the Appetisers of course.

In my humble opinion you cant go wrong with the Fickles. They are dill pickle chip battered and served with fry sauce. I'm not a massive fan of pickles but I tried one of my wifes frickle's on our very first visit and i feel in love with them.

For you meat lovers out there, I would highly recommend the chicken wings. from maple bourbon bacon wings to buffalo (my personal fav) and two other flavours.

Moving onto the 'mains'. If you only go here once then you must try the brisket on Texas toast. The beef just melts in your mouth and the Texas toast adds a very nice texture to it. The Texas sausage is a fantastic companion to the brisket.

My wife would highly recommend the Hangfire burger with American cheese. you will obviously would want a side order with your main meal and there are some great choices awaiting you. The classic mag and cheese is always a good choice also the sweet potato fries is a fail safe choice to accompany your meal. After saying that i would urge you to try as much as you can from the menu.

If you are not driving then try the moonshine, especially the bootlegger moonshine. its so strong they limit how many you can have. Personally one is enough for me.
